In short

This website does not use cookies or personal tracking. Fonts are self-hosted. Simply visiting the site only triggers one anonymous, aggregated speed measurement sent to our host Vercel (see “Hosting and server log files”), no other silent requests to third parties. External content (YouTube, WhatsApp) only loads after an explicit click.

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. When you visit the site, Vercel automatically processes technical access data (including IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, browser type) in the form of server log files, in order to deliver the website and ensure system security. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a stable and secure technical provision (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Vercel Inc. is based in the USA; Vercel states that it is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequate level of protection for data transfers to the USA. We additionally offer anonymous reach and performance measurement via Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights (aggregate page-view counts, referrers, load times). This runs only after your explicit consent: on your first visit we ask, via a notice, whether we may measure. Only if you choose “Allow measurement” are the relevant scripts loaded. No cookies are set; visitors are only distinguished via a hash derived from the request, discarded after at most 24 hours, and no personal profiles are built. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR); you can withdraw it at any time, with effect for the future, via “Privacy settings” in the footer. Without consent the site works exactly the same.

Embedded YouTube videos

In the screening room we still embed some of our work from YouTube in extended privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The player is not loaded automatically, only once you actively click "Play". This click establishes a connection to servers of Google Ireland Limited and transmits your IP address and device information to Google; Google may link this data with other information it holds. The legal basis is your consent given through the click (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). Alternatively, you can watch any video directly on YouTube via the corresponding link in the screening room.

Our own videos (Cloudflare R2)

A growing share of our work is delivered from our own video storage at Cloudflare (R2 Object Storage, jurisdiction "European Union" – the data is bound to stay within the EU). In the archive, a short, muted preview may start as soon as you hover over a card with the mouse; full playback with sound only starts once you actively click. Only technical access data is processed (IP address, timestamp), the same as for any other image or script on this site – no cookies are set and no user profiles are built. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering our own content performantly (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

Contacting us

If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, we process the data you provide (including name, contact details, content of the enquiry) solely to handle your enquiry, on the basis of your consent or to initiate a contract (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a and b GDPR). The WhatsApp button links to WhatsApp Ireland Limited; once you open the chat, WhatsApp's/Meta's privacy terms apply to further communication.

Appointment booking and contact form

The forms in the "Erstgespräch" section let you book an appointment or send us a message. We process the data you enter there (name, email address, optionally phone number, message and topic choice, chosen time slot) to handle your request and to initiate a contract (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR). We use the email service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) as a processor to send confirmation emails. If direct calendar booking is active, the appointment is additionally created internally in a Google Calendar and your email address is passed to Google Ireland Limited as an attendee. Google does not send its own invite email for this: you instead receive the appointment as a calendar file (.ics) attached to the Resend confirmation email. If calendar integration is not active, your request is handled solely by email via Resend, without any involvement from Google. The confirmation email also contains an individual, cryptographically signed link that lets you cancel the appointment yourself, without logging in. The link is protected against tampering and only valid for that specific appointment. Messages sent via the contact form also reach us via Resend, and you receive a confirmation of receipt at the address you provided.

Your rights

You have the right at any time to information, correction, deletion or restriction of processing of your personal data, a right to object to processing, and a right to data portability. You may also file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; for Bremen this is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit der Freien Hansestadt Bremen.

SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the "https://" prefix in your browser's address bar.
